About Calvary Chapel:

Calvary Chapel Ann Arbor is part of an association of over 1,000 Calvary Chapels worldwide.  The first Calvary Chapel, pastored by Chuck Smith, began in Costa Mesa, CA in the 1960's and found itself in the middle of a wonderful outpouring of Godís grace in which thousands of young people came to faith in Christ.

Calvary Chapel is not a hierarchical denomination; rather, it is an association of like-minded churches held together by a common faith, a common philosophy of ministry, and by genuine Christian love.  At the heart of Calvary Chapel is a passion to know God through heartfelt worship and verse-by-verse Bible teaching and to rely upon Him for daily strength and guidance.

About Calvary Chapel Ann Arbor:

Our Focus:  Turning to Christ, living for Him
Turning to Christ:  We turn/repent when we receive Christ, & we turn to Him everyday
Living for Him:  We cultivate three connections:

       UP - with God
IN - with one another
OUT - with a lost & needy world

Our Heart:  To Love God ∑ To Love people
These are the two greatest commands.

"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?"  Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'  On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."   (Matthew 22:36-40)

Our Strength:  The Spirit of God
"So he answered and said to me: "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts" (Zech. 4:6)
